Hackers, Others Seek DMCA Exemptions

The U.S. Copyright Office has received nine requests for exemptions to anti-hacking provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Among them, they include making it legal to hack digital rights management protection on movies, music and videos for backup and research purposes.
